Tudor P01 I

EDC - Tudor P01, Sig P365, Benchmade Hunt

The Tudor P01 is and has been an incredibly controversial piece from Tudor. Rooted in some great history, it came onto the watch scene with great excitement and then a ton of disappointment. A strange combination of leather band with folding clasp on a Diver oriented tool watch seemed to be way too much for many.

I must admit, the watch has sat in my collection largely unworn for the better part of two years. I love the look and heft of the watch and the dial is simply incredibly crisp. I have a thing about date windows, meaning I wish they were non existent. Personally a date window on a tool watch, let alone a dive watch is just stupid in my opinion, but alas, I digress.

So, this watch has sat for quite a while with me not really sure what to do. Keep and sell it eventually, wear it and beat it up, or just sell it now. Well, about two months ago I committed to just taking some time to wearing it and it has really started to grow on me. While a tad small for my liking, I do love the weight of the watch and the clasp and strap are simply incredibly comfortable.

Yes the lugs are strange and they hang over the wrist in weird ways some times, but all in all this watch has really begun to connect with me, or perhaps, vise a versa, I have begun to connect with this watch. In either event it has found a solid home and fits nicely in my rotation. Tudor continues to be one of the most solid value oriented brands in existence today. I personally have three pieces and won’t hesitate to add a 4th when the time comes. I think another Pelagos is next on the list. After all it is Christmas and everyone needs a new watch that they buy for themself.
