Nightly Walks
I have been in Bentonville Arkansas for just short of two weeks now. It has been much colder than I anticipated. Thank goodness that I brought the right close and doubled down on my quilts, bringing 2 Enlightened Equipment down quilts with me. One rated at 20degrees and the other at 40. On these chilly nights, sliding into both quilts is super easy and incredibly comfortable. Of course it helps that I am also on my Exped Mega Mat, something normally relegated to my 4Runner camp setup, but is working perfectly in the Allak 3 in Base Camp Mode.
Working during the day, my evenings end pretty early in the tent. However, before retiring, camera in hand, I try and take a walk around the park, enjoying the crisp air and the sounds of nature so closely intertwined with suburban life. The edges of the park are rimmed high on the hills with homes, and the glow from downtown is always there. Still, walking in the dark, sound of the creek gurgling away, I find calm and piece to end the day. This is truly a magical place to stay.
